Selekta Massive and Pupa Lava are working on a new reggae mixtape to include almost 60 % local , i.e. South African reggae music before the end of 2009.

 Called, Firetown burning, this selection is meant to be the celebration of local reggae tunes produced in Grahamstown, Eastern Cape, South Africa and Africa.

I miss my 2008 PGDip classmates

I remember my varsity years  at Rhodes University, especially 2008.  Lost in a  mix of students from  almost all racial groups in South Africa and a few from Zimbabwe, our neighbour country. The experience is worth retelling.

It was liberating to find yourself and your space in such a diversity of viewpoints and opinions.

Bobo X, Selekta Massive and Firestarter

A new raggamaffin outfit from has just registerd their presence in (Firetown) Grahamstown  by organising and recording raggamaffin tunes. Selekta Massive, Firestarter and Bobo X are the three men behind the outfit loosely called Blessed Trinity.

Currently recording their tunes with the assistance of X Nasty from Fingo Revolution movement, the group seems grounded.

We wanted to collaborate and make tunes to voice our view and  experiment with our potential and talent, said Firestarter.

At the moment the trio have recorded three tunes namely Nyhabinghi Bobo Shanti Revolution, I fireburn and the latest being the Ganja Anthem .

Black Dillinger murdered the dancefloor in Mdantsane

The show may have started late at 11h30 pm but when the trio ultimately stepped up the stage, the house literally burned down.

 Fans and revellers pushed up their lighers and rocked to the riddim.

 Black Dillinger, Driemanskap and Junior rulled with raggamaffin flavoured freestyles and perfomances on Friday ,2 October 2009.

This was the Eastern Cape leg of SA tour by  Black Dillinger who is originally from Gugulethu in Cape town.
